First of all – it’s a really easy way to impress people even though making a website can be so easy. In addition to that it lets you get away from the WYSIWG (*W*hat *Y*ou *S*ee *I*s *W*hat *Y*ou *G*et) paradigm that most software uses as their primary way of working on and interacting with your design.

This in turn can make you think a bit more intentionally about the systems / relations that underly any piece of work by having to write all the styling as text instruction which I personally think is a very useful little switch of perspective.

Also, its fun to put stuff on the internet!
